Portfolio - Press Releases

The first press release was written to raise awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I incorporated several facts regarding the number and kinds of Injunction for Protection petitions (restraining orders) filed in our office. Furthermore, I included local and national statistics to educate the public on how Domestic Violence affects not only the victim, but society as a whole.  The goal of the press release was to educate and empower the public with information, offer resources to seek help, and share details of the Clerk's efforts to shed light on this preventable crime. 

 

The goal of the second press release was to commemorate the Clerk's Legal Self Help Center milestone, while incorporating background information about the center along with clear measures of success to elicit trust. Many citizens represent themselves in court and do so with many hurdles and errors, leading to case delays and undue stress. Citizens may feel left to their own devices when navigating the complicated judicial system and may disregard available legal help due to the high cost of standard law offices. Promotion of the press release highlighting the new office hours and location helped reach a new customer base given the increased appointment availability.
